A new report saidTanzania's economy grew 7.1 percent year on year in the first three months of the year, faster than 6.1 percent in the same period last year, the National Bureau of Statistics repoeted on Friday.

Report said Tanzania mining and quarrying expanded by 14.3 percent from 0.8 percent last year. The diamond output said increased up to 57,330 carats from 10,472 carats while gold output more than doubled to 16,736 kilogrammes it said.
